About Us

Birnam Nursery is a wholesale production nursery located in Western Australia, about 30 minutes south of Perth CBD. We have been operating in Perth for 40 years and are one of WA’s leading indoor plant growers and suppliers. All of our stock is sourced within Australia, and then locally grown on our 10-acre property. We are constantly looking for new and exciting stock to produce as well as all the old-time favourites.

Every plant that leaves the nursery is grown in premium potting mix that we have perfected over the years with our own top-secret recipe that is made on site. Once purchased, your plant will be happy to sit in the same soil for 4-5 months.

Established in 1982, Bob Bentley came across an Azalea plant in his travels and fell in love. From then on, he decided that was what he was going to grow and thus, Birnam Nursery ‘The Home of Azaleas’ was born. Our name came from Birnam Road in Canning Vale, which is the original site of the nursery. Now we are located on Tuart Road in Oakford where we are ever expanding. Birnam Nursery is currently owned by Bobs eldest son, Terry.

We have been a proud member of the Nursery and Garden Industry Western Australia for x years and we regularly participate in the Perth Garden & Outdoor Living Festival under our brand name of ‘Jungle Living’. In 2019 we were fortunate enough to take home the Gold Exhibitor Award.

While we continue to supply Western Australia with our famous Azaleas, we now largely focus on indoor plants such as Alocasias, Calatheas, Dieffenbachias, Pothos, Philodendrons and more. We also supply a wide range of shade and patio plants such as Ferns, Gardenias, and Ficus, as well as sun tolerant Sublimes and Boronias.

While we are a wholesale only nursery, we do have a large range of retail nurseries and garden centers that stock our plants.
